6x - 5y = 4 ; bx - 4y = 9

On comparing,

a1 = 6 ; a2 = b

b1 = -5 ; b2 = -4

c1 = 4 ; c3 = 9

If the lines are parallel then,

a1/a2 = b1/b2 ≠ c1/c2

a1/a2 ≠ c1/c2 ; a1/a2 = b1/b2

6/b ≠ 4/9 ; 6/b = -5/-4

b ≠ 54/4 : b = 24/5

b ≠ 27/2 ; b = 24/5

It is clear that, value of b is 24/5 but it must not be 27/2.

Hence, Value of b is 24/5

Answer:

6x-5y=4 , bx -4y =9.

according to the question..

a1 =6. ,. a2 =b

b1= -5 ,. b2=-4

c1= 4. ,. c3 =9

lines are parallel ( given)

a1/a2=b1/b2 is not equal to

c1/c2

a1/a2 not equal to c1/c2 ,:,a1/a2=b1/b2

6/b not equal to 4 /9 ; 6/b = -5/-4

b not equal to 54/4 ; b= 24/5

b not equal to 27/2 ; b =24/5

it defines that the value of b is not 27/2

because b is not equal to the 27/2

hence, the value of b= 24/5 .
