friends,,
first recall the ash test,,

molecular wt of lipid = 800 Da

by the consideration of wt it should
be included in biomicromolecules
range of 18-800 Da

but it included in biomicromolecules
range of >10,000 Da

BECAUSE,
lipid as smaller molecular wt
it not only present as such lipid, it also
arranged in membranes,
So when we grind a tissue,
membranes are broken into pieces
and form vesicles,which make them
acid insoluble
therefore they present in
biomicromolecules fraction......

but
"lipids are not strictly biomacromolecules"
