Liquids generally have lower density as compared to solids. But you must have observed that ice floats on water. Find out,why?

when we freezes water it becomes in less dense. on the other hand most of substance most dense in Solid but this phenomenon not for ice. ice become less denser in solidarity form .

Solids have higher densitg than water
But in this case ice (solid) float in water( liquid) this happens bacoz of the cage like structure of ice it has air pores in between
We can also say it as ans exceptional case
