Soluble substances:

The substances which can be dissolved in liquid mostly water are called as soluble substances

The things which gets dissolved in liquid are called solutes and the liquid which they dissolve are called solvents.

Some of the examples of the soluble substances are:

  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Coffee
  • Ethanol
  • Flour

Experiment:

  1. Take a glass of water and add 1 spoon sugar to it and mix the solution well.
  2. When we observe the glass we cannot find the residue of the sugar which we had added.
  3. Hence, sugar dissolves in water, therefore, it is a soluble substance.
  4. This experiment can be repeated for other soluble substances.
