Saturated Compound:

1. It has single bond(s) between the Carbon chains.

2. Generally less reactive.

3. Gives a clean flame on burning.

Unsaturated Compound:

1. It contains one or more double/triple bonds between carbon chains.

2. More reactive than saturated compounds.

3. They give yellow flame with lot of black smoke on burning.
