Following are the three factors that contribute to the development of print Technology:

1. The increasing demand for books could not be satisfied by the handwritten manuscripts.

2. They could not be easily duplicated, as copying was expensive, labor and time-consuming business.

3. Manuscripts were not designed by its contents, which may merge the written text with maps, figures, numerical calculations etc.

4. People could not carry, cared for or read easily the manuscripts while they could easily carry the newly printed books.

5. Though the woodblock printing was a popular form of books there was acutely a demand for faster and affordable reproduction of manuscripts.
