List out the essential qualification for a person to become a member of the parliament

A person must satisfy following essential conditions to be qualified to become a member of parliament;

1. He/She must be a citizen of India.

2. He/She must not be less than 25 years of age. (For Rajya sabha it is 30 years)

Additional conditions for nomination of Lok sabha member:

1. He/She must be a voter for any parliamentary constituency in India.

2. If he/she is a candidate of a recognized political party, one proposer needed from his constituency

3. If he is an independent candidate, he needs ten proposers.

4. He is required to make a security deposit of ₹10,000.
