List out the precautions to be followed while using laboratory thermometer

Following precautions are needed whilereading a laboratory thermometer: (i) The thermometer should be kept upright not tilted. (ii) Bulb should be surrounded from all sides by the substance of which the temperature is to be measured. (iii) The bulb should not touch the surface of the container.
