If it has a fruit it has a flower , but you may not be able to see it. Sometimes people see fig fruit without seeing the flowers and think there are none. They are wrong . The fig flowers are tiny and are inside the green fig. A tiny wasp enters the hole at the large end of the fig to pollinate each flower. Then the fruits begin to grow. Each flower that the wasp has fertilized becomes a seed surrounded by flesh. So this is how we get the little seeds in fig newtons , from little flowers fertilized by a little wasp going in a little hole we didn't even know was there.
