Advertising is a way of communicating with the people to persuade them to purchase the goods and services. But some moral principles or marketing ethics should be kept in mind while doing so.

Some unethical aspects of advertising are:

1. Making exaggerated, unverified or false claims - Sometimes marketers make false statements, exaggerate the benefits of their goods or tell things which cannot be verified because they are desperate to sell their things. For example, these tactics are used to sell products associated with weight loss.

2. Marketers distort the facts to confuse or mislead the customers - For example, a food processing company may say that its products have low calories or are sugar-free just to make the people buy their products even though the things contain sugar.

3. Salesmen usually conceal the side effects or the dark side of their products.

4. Spreading wrong things about a competitor or rival's products.

5. Trying to attract the customers by using women who are not dressed properly for advertising.

6. Using pressure tactics - Marketers make a limited time offer and compel the customers to buy on the spot.

7. Copying the marketing messages of the rival producers.

8. Exploiting the customer by charging more than the actual value of the product or service.

9. Looking down upon a race, religion or sex in the marketing messages.

10. Spamming or sending unsolicited emails to the potential buyers and asking them to purchase the products or services.
