selling price after discount = 160x90/100 = Rs.144

Current price = Rs. 122.4 = 144 - 21.6

Therefore second discount x = 21.6/144 = 15%

Concept:

Here in this question we will use the concept of discount and discount %.

Discount = List Price - Selling Price

Discount%= \frac{Discount}{List Price}*100

Given:

List price of a slipper= Rs.160

First discount offered= 10%

Find:

We have to find the second discount offered.

Solution:

Since, Discount %= \frac{Discount}{List Price}*100

                  10=\frac{Discount}{160}*100

              Discount=1600/100 = Rs.16

Selling Price= List Price- Discount

                     = Rs.160 - Rs. 16 = Rs. 144

Now, Current Selling Price = Rs. 122.4

and Listing price = Rs. 144 (here previous selling becomes new listing price)

Discount= 144-122.4 = Rs. 21.6

Discount % = \frac{21.6}{144}*100

                  =0.15 * 100 = 15%

Hence, the final answer is 15%.
