Soil conservation can be done by taking the following steps:-

1. Afforestation or planting of trees and plants is a great method to conserve soil. The roots of plants and trees bind the soil which prevents the soil from getting eroded.
2. Terrace farming is a practice of farming followed in hilly areasv. Farmers build steps called terraces on hill sides to prevent the soil from being washed away.
3. Crop rotation is another method that replenishes soil and prevents degradation
4. Dams and embankments are built to control flood and thus prevent soil erosion.

Methods to conserve water:-

1. Repair leaking taps.
2. Farmers should use better irrigation methods like drip irrigation to use less water.
3. Water from industries should be recycled after proper treatment.
4. Rainwater should be harvested and collected for use.
5. We should not waste water while bathing , washing clothes, utensils etc.
