Indian Constitution of India was amended on 5th November 1971. The government was headed by ‘Indira Gandhi’. The amendment was related to the fundamental rights of the people.  

The constitution can be amended in two ways.  

The amendment can take place with the intervention of the ‘parliament of India’ through a majority from both the houses. The second form of the amendment requires one half of majority of the state legislature.
