The main events in human reproductive system are:
1)Formation of gametes.
The gametes are formed in the gonads, which also shows their hormonal functions. A gamete is a mature haploid male / female germ cell that is able to fuse with one-another of the opposite sex in sexual reproduction to form a zygote.

2)cyclic changes in the female for receiving sperm through coitus.
Insemination is the deliberate fusion of sperm into a female for the purpose of impregnating for the female.

The fusion of two haploid gametes (sperm & ovum) to form a new diploid cell is called fertilization.
