Main functions of skeleton:
It mainly serves 6 major functions.
1)support.
2)Movement.
3)protection.
4)production of blood cells.
5)storage of minerals And
6)Endocrine regulation.

SKELETION:

It provides frame work which supports the body and maintaims its shape.
Without the rib cages,costal cartilages and intercostal muscles the lungs would collapse.
so,our sleleton helps not to collapse.

MOVEMENT:

The joims btw bones allow movement.some allowing the wider range of movement than others.

PROTECTION:

*The skull protects the brain
*The vertebrate protects spinal cord.
*The ribcage,spine and sternum protects lungs and heart.

BLOOD CELL PRODUCTION:

The skeleton in the site of haemotaposis,the devolpment of blood cells take place in bone marrow.

STORAGE OF MINERALS:

The bone matrix can store calicum and is involved on calicum metabolism and bone marrow can store iron.and involves in iron metabolism.

ENDOCRINE REGULATION:

Bones cell release a harmone called osteocalcin which contributes to regulate blood sugar and fat desposition.
