The major steps followed in Recombinant DNA Technology are:-
i)Specific nucleotide sequences are cut from the DNA of humans,other animals or plants.
ii)These nucleotide sequences are pasted(recombined) into the circular DNA(plasmid) of certain bacteria.Such DNA is called recombinant DNA.
iii)The recombinant DNA is reintroduced into bacteria
iv)Bacteria divide and a large population is produced,each bacterium having the duplicated plasmid carrying the desire gene.
