Biotechnology is being practised by using natural microorganisms as well as genetically enginered microorganisms.They are used to manufacture items such as yoghurt,vinegar,wine,cake,bread,idli,dosa,etc.These are largely based on the principle of fermenation.
For Example, Yoghurt is prepared with the starter containing Streptoccoccus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus.
