Veins:- Veins are thick walled and non muscular and less elastic than arteries. It carry deoxygenated blood from different parts of bodies. It is also called as collecting vessels. It has valves which prevent the backward flow of blood. Pulmonary veins carry oxygenated blood to the heart.

Arteries:- Carry oxygenated blood from heart to the different body parts. They are also called distributing vessels. They have thick, elastic and muscular walls. They have no valves.
