Name the organ and site of photosynthesis in green plants

Photosynthesis occurs in all green plants and a few other simple organisms, such as algae and some bacteria. It takes place inside plant cells in small things called chloroplasts. Chloroplasts (mostly found in the mesophyll layer) contain a green substance called chlorophyll.
