Alkali metals need to be stored under oil to prevent them reacting with the oxygen and water vapour in the air. The reactivity of the alkali metals increases down the group. Potassium reacts more vigorously than sodiumand lithium is the least reactive.

lithium , sodium and potassium are in group 1 .
they are alkali metals.
they reacts vigorously with air and water.
down the group ,the reactivity of the elements is increases. they need to be kept in kerosene to prevent from air and water.

nehabhardwajtu: thanks
