Tendrils are thin stems which grow on some plants so that they can attach themselves to supports such as walls or other plants.
Examples:- Grape plant

Tendril (eg. Grape):
>> The tendrils are thin, wire like sensitive structures which coil around a support and help the plant in climbing.
>> The plants like Passion flower, have waek stems.
>> The plant therefore requires additional support to stand erect.
>> Therefore, the apical buds or axillary buds in these plants are modified into tendrils.
>> With the help of tendrils the plant can climb along the support and stand upright.
