Total area covered and that is 44.5 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the are of the pink blanket "A" =5\times 5.7 = 28.5 m^2

The area of a rectangle is A = l\times w.

Now we have area of the pink blanket which is 28.5.

The area of blue blanket A= 6 x 4 = 24 m^2

Area of a triangle: A= 1/2 x (base x height)

                                 =  1/2 x (4 x 4)

                                 =    8  (Area of both blankets)

Now the total area = Pink blanket  x Blue blanket

                               = 28.5 x (24 - 8)

                               = 44.5 ft²

Now, pink blanket 28.5 x blue blanket 24 minus 8 is giving us the number that is referring to total area that is covered and that is 44.5 ft²

Answer:

44.5

Step-by-step explanation:

\begin{aligned} \text{Area of the } \blueD{\text{vertical blanket}} &= \text{length} \cdot \text{width} \\\\ &= 4 \cdot 6 \\\\ &= \blueD{24 \text{ ft}^2}\\\\ \end{aligned}

Area of the vertical blanket

=length⋅width

=4⋅6

=24 ft

Hint #22 / 5

\begin{aligned} \text{Area of the } \maroonD{\text{diagonal blanket}} &= \text{length} \cdot \text{width} \\\\ &= 5 \cdot 5.7 \\\\ &= \maroonD{28.5 \text{ ft}^2}\\\\ \end{aligned}

Area of the diagonal blanket

=length⋅width

=5⋅5.7

=28.5 ft

Hint #33 / 5

\begin{aligned} \text{Area of the } \purpleD{\text{overlapping triangle}} &= \dfrac12 \cdot \text{base} \cdot \text{height} \\\\ &= \dfrac12 \cdot 4 \cdot 4 \\\\ &= \purpleD{8 \text{ ft}^2}\\\\ \end{aligned}

Area of the overlapping triangle

Hint #44 / 5

Now we can combine the total area of the two blankets and subtract the overlapping amount from the total.

\blueD{24} + \maroonD{28.5} - \purpleD8 = 44.5 \text{ ft}^224+28.5−8=44.5 ft
