Given:

3/6,9/6,2/3, I/6

To Find:

Locate on a number line

Solution:

To locate a fraction in a number first convert the fraction into a mixed fraction, if say there is a fraction 10/8 then covert into mixed we get 1(2/8) then the fraction will lie between 1 to 2 by diving this interval into 4 parts and the 1st part location will be the location for this fraction similarly moving ahead

(a) 3/6

3/6 can be simplified as 1/2 so the location will be

__(0)___[3/6]___(1)__

(b) 9/6

9/6 can be written as 1(1/2) so the location will be

__(1)___[9/6]___(2)__

(c) 2/3

the location will be

__(0)____[2/3]__(1)__

(d) 1/6

the location will be

__(0)_[1/6]_____(1)__

Hence, the number is located as mentioned above.
