Hey there !

log ( x + 3 ) + log ( x - 3 ) = log 27

We know that, log function with same bases when added can be multiplied with common base. Therefore,

log ( x + 3 ) ( x - 3 ) = log 27

Removing the log function on both sides by exponential function we get,

=> ( x + 3 ) ( x - 3 ) = 27

=> x² - 9 = 27

=> x² = 27 + 9

=> x² = 36

=> x = √ 36

=> x = +6 or -6

X cannot be negative as exponent cannot be negative in this case.

Hence the value of x = 6

Hope my answer helped !
