Explanation:

elEven though our intestine is long it is not that much enough for the digestion of cellulose present in leafy vegetables cellulose is a complex food which is hard to digest by human beings. long long ago when human being does not know to cook the food human being used to eat raw leafy vegetables or leaves which contain cellulose and that time the appendix present in the large intestine was big and it was helping to digest cellulose but when human know to cook food it slowly left to eat cellulose or leafy vegetables due to which the appendix became smaller in size and now it is not useful at all to digest the cellulose so this organ is also known as a vestigial organ.
