In this picture this man seems to be very sad. His nears  and dears have perhaps deserted him. He has been left shelterless in his old age. Now he does not know what to do. Life seems to him to be an unbearable burden. He might be thinking of taking some desperate step to end his life. But there is something that prevents him from taking such a step. It could be love of someone or some unfinished responsibility.
