The answer is 14 since alternately after 8 +3 is added to make it 11 then 14 and so on. And next there is -2 is added so 43 becomes 41 then 39 and so on.

Concept:

We first recall the concept of number series to solve this series.

In  reasoning, Number series is a sequence of  letters, numbers or both arranged in a specific way that each term follows a rule.

Given:

The number series is 8,43,11,41,?,39,17,.....

To find:

The missing term of the series

Solution:

If we take the alternate terms of the series together

Then the terms 43, 41, 39 follows a rule that each term is obtained by subtracting 2 from the previous term.

i.e 43-2 = 41

    41-2 = 39

and the terms 8,11,?,17  follows a rule that each term is obtained by adding 3 in the previous one.

i.e. 8+3 = 11

    11+3 = 14

    14+3 = 17

Hence the missing term of the series is 11+3=14.

Option (B) is correct choice.
