Rational numbers are not closed under division.Example: 2 ÷ 0 is not defined. But in the case of multiplaction also, 1/8 x 0 is 0 which is not a rational number. So as per this logic, rational nos should not be closed under multiplaction also. But why is it not so?

First thing 0 is a rational no. Becuase it can be written in the form of 0/1. Any integer divided by zero is not equals to zero.becuase you can't define what is going to be the quotient. You would be thinking that any no. divided by 0is equal to 0. Rational nos.are those which can be written in fractional form and has denominator more or less than zero. 1/8❌0 = zero that means zero and 1/8 are rational nos.
