"Landslide is caused majorly due to heavy rains, floods, earthquakes and constructions etc.

In few last years some serious and fatal landslides occurred in India. Below is the list of some worst landslide:

1. Guwahati landslide in Assam

It took place on 18th September 1948 due to heavy rains and about 500 people died according to the report.

2. Darjeeling landslide in West Bengal:

It took place on 4th October 1968 due to floods which cut the long highway of about 60 Km cut into 91 parts.

Thousand of people dies in the landslide.

• Mumbai landslide, Maharashtra: Landsladesh happened in July 2000. Landslide was caused by heavy rains in Mumbai suburbs, after which land was eroded. According to reports, 67 people died and local trains were also disturbed.

• Ambori landslide, Kerala: Landslide in Kerala's history was known as the worst landslide. The landslide took place on November 9, 2001 due to heavy rains and 40 people died in the incident.

• Kedarnath landslide, Uttarakhand: landslide occurred on June 16, 2013 and Uttarakhand was the result of flood. More than 5,700 people were killed and more than 4,200 villages were affected by landslides after floods and floods

• Malin landslide, Maharashtra: July 30, 2014 landslides in a village in Malinan. Heavy rains caused landslides and about 151 people were killed and 100 people disappeared after the disaster.
