The Rydberg constant, symbol R or RH is a physical constant used in atomic spectra and named after the Swedish physicist Johannes Rydberg. Its value is 109,677 Cm-1 and it is a positive value however, the unit is in inverse form, that is not a negative too.

Rydberg's constant has different values in different units. Its value is 109, 677 cm -1 in cm -1 units and 2.18 X 10 -18 J in terms of joules.
