Given :  Machines X Y and Z can manufacture a batch of products in 8 hours. 10 hours and 12 hours.  respectively . The work of making a single batch of products is started on the machines at 11 AM.

Machine X is Switched off at 1 PM

To Find : By what time will a  single batch of products be made

Solution:

Machine X takes  8 hours for a batch

Worked for 11 AM to 1 PM = 2 hrs

Batch produced = 2/8  = 1/4

Let say T  hr taken to produce a batch

Then Batch produced by Y machine =  T/10

Then Batch produced by Y machine =  T/12

1/4 + T/10 + T/12  = 1

=>  11T/60  = 3/4

=> 11T = 45

=> T = 45/11

=> T ≈ 4 hrs

4 hrs from 11 AM  =  3 PM

But actual time would be 5-6 minutes above  3PM
