physical sciences, mechanical energy is the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy. It is the energy associated with the motion and position of an object. The principle of conservation of mechanical energy states that in an isolated system that is only subject to conservative forces, the mechanical energy is constant. If an object is moved in the opposite direction of a conservative net force, the potential energy will increase and if the speed (not the velocity) of the object is changed, the kinetic energy of the object is changed as well. In all real systems, however, nonconservative forces, like frictional forces, will be present, but often they are of negligible values and the mechanical energy's being constant can therefore be a useful approximation. In elastic collisions, the mechanical energy is conserved but in inelastic collisions, some mechanical energy is converted into heat. The equivalence between lost mechanical energy (dissipation) and an increase in temperature was discovered by James Prescott Joule.

Many devices are used to convert mechanical energy to or from other forms of energy, e.g. an electric motor converts electrical energy to mechanical energy, an electric generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy and a steam engine converts heat energy to mechanical energy.

Answer:

If  I had a time machine

If I had a time machine.... I would go to the Past and resolve conflicts, wars and problem. I would go to the 19th century and 20th century and clarify the problems between British and India. I would make sure that there were no World Wars.I would make sure there were no conflicts between countries. I would go to the Stone Age and observe how things were and how humans of the Stone Age communicated. I would also make a visit to the Future and see how technology of the future works. Time is like a sand grain which slips from our hand. The moment we hold is precious and once it's gone it can never return. Whereas, if I had a time machine which can make me travel in the past, I would like to travel in the past and remove all the conflicts and wrongs. If I had a time machine I would travel back to my ancestors and would live free from the polluted and populated world. I would live in greenery and around clear air. Earlier there were plenty of trees which purified the air. There were no motor vehicles and our ancestors performed all the tasks themselves, which is why they are strong and healthy even today. The atmosphere used to be balanced in earlier times.
