Marie curie was the first woman to win a noble prize in physics. while studying materials that produced X rays she and her husband discovered the elements polonium and radium. they also coined the term 'radioactivity' to describe the activity of materials that produce X rays. Marie curie was later awarded a second noble prize in chemistry for her study of polonium and radium. she was born on 1867 and died on 1934.
