Given : Maddy reads \dfrac{3}{5} of 75 pages of his lesson.

To Find : No. of ramining pages Maddy needs to read to complete the lesson.

Solution :

Maddy reads \dfrac{3}{5} of 75 pages,

so, no. of pages read by Maddy =  \dfrac{3}{5}  × 75

                                                     = 45.

∴ Maddy reads 45 pages of his lesson.

∴ Remaining pages to read = 75 - 45

                                              = 30.

So, Maddy needs to read 30 pages to complete the lesson.

Given :

A lesson of 75 pages and 3/5 th portion of lesson is already read by maddy

To Find :

Number of remaining pages in lesson

Solution :

•let the number of pages read by maddy be x

•Total number of pages in lesson are 75

•It is given by that 3/5 of which are read by maddy

=> 3/5 of 75 = x

=> 3×75/5 = x

=> x = 45

•on calculating 3/5 of 75 we come to know that 45 pages are already read by maddy

•Remaining pages will be 75 - 45 = 30 pages

•Hence , 45 pages are left from the lesson
