when a current is pass through a conducting wire a magnetic field is produced which can be detected with a compass needle.
-Magnetic field and field lines are created due to current in a straight wire.
-If a conducting wire is wound in form of a cylindrical coil whose diameter is less in comparison to its length, the coil is called solenoid which is used to obtain magnetic fields.
-Temporary magnets called electro magnets are also created using current .
-Current when passed in a loop also, produces magnetic fields
