- Magnetic Separation is which separating components of mixtures by using magnets to attract magnetic materials. Not all metals are magnetic; gold, silver and aluminum are some examples.
- Only those ores can be concentrated by magnetic separation method in which either the ore particles or the impurities associated with it are of magnetic nature. For example, ores or iron such haematite (Fe2O3), magnetite (Fe3O4), siderite (FeCO3) are magnetic and can be concentrated by this method.
