Answer:

\large \text{$\vec R=\sqrt{P^2+Q^2+2PQ \ \cos\theta}$}

Explanation:

The magnitude of resultant R vector as

\large \text{$\vec R=\sqrt{P^2+Q^2+2PQ \ \cos\theta}$}

Taking one example for it.

Suppose we have two vectors P and Q having magnitude 3 & 4 unit and angle between them is 90.

We have to find magnitude of resultant .

We know value of cos 90 = 0

Put the values in formula we get

\large \text{$\vec R=\sqrt{3^2+4^2+2\times3\times4\times0}$}\\\\\\\large \text{$\vec R=\sqrt{9+16+0}$}\\\\\\\large \text{$\vec R=\sqrt{25}$}\\\\\\\large \text{$\vec R=5 \ unit$}

Thus we get answer 5 unit as magnitude of resultant.
