Explanation:
Since Jarasandh had no heirs, on advice from his friend Banasur, he married his daughters Asti and Prapti to Kamsa. Later, Shri Krishna slayed Kamsa, thereby making Asti and Prapti widows.
Unable to bear this, Jarasandh started enemity towards Shri Krishna. So, Jarasandha attacked Mathura and the Yadavas 17 times. Once his army included the Panchalas and the Kurus among other kings of India. While Krishna and the Yadavas survived the attacks, sensing danger Krishna relocated his capital city to Dwaraka. Dwaraka was an island and it was not possible for anyone to attack it at all.
