Mahatma Gandhi also known as the father of our nation, was a great freedom fighter. He was against the idea of partition of India into India and Pakistan. According to Gandhi, India was a secular nation with different religions and it must not be divided for religion. But his opposition was like the voice in the wilderness.

Explanation

Voice in the wilderness indicates a plea made by someone that is usually ignored. Similarly, when Gandhi voiced against India's partition, his companions and the people ignored it.
