the main causes of female illetaracy is less urban development and in rural places such things are common which destroys society.
also in some urban places people are less likely to make women dependent. in many places women get less salary as compared to men

the people in the society feel that girl child is burden and think that educating her is waste after all she is going to marry .some think that girl child will be safer in home and some due the old believes,custom and tradition don't educate the girls. this is reason for female iliteracy in india today.
