- India is a democratic country in which five main principles of democracy are followed.
- "Sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic" and "republic" are democratic principles followed in India.
- Citizens or the population of India have power in their government and the power had been exercised through voting and selecting their political representatives.
- The Powers of the country is divided into federal or central government and state governments and legislative, executive and judicial powers are divided amongst them.
