in p type semiconductor, pure semiconductor like Si is doped with trivalent impurity atoms like In, so Indium atom forms 3 covalent bonds with the neighbouring 3 Si semiconductor atoms. The fourth bond remains incomplete creating a hole and deficiency of an electron. This hole attracts the electron from the neighbouring covalent bond to fill itself. Thus a new hole is created at the site from which the electron has been attracted to fill the hole.
