here are some differences between plant and animal cells:


  • plant cell is larger in size
  • animal cells are comparatively smaller in size

  • plastids are present in plant cells
  • plastids are absent in animal cells

  • a plant cell has a large central vacuole
  • animal cells have temporary small sized vacuoles

  • nucleus is on one side of the cytoplasm in plant cells
  • nucleus is usually present in the centre of the cytoplasm

  • cell wall and plama membrane is present in plant cells
  • cell wall is absent in animal cells but a thin plasma membrane is present
