TENSES

It denotes the time an action takes place.

Tenses are three types:-

1. Past

2. Present

3. Future

PRESENT TENSE:-

1. Present Simple Tense

Simple - Subject + Ist form of verb

Negative - Subject + do/does+ not + Ist form of verb + e/es

Interrogative - Do/Does + Subject + Ist form of verb

NOTE:

Do will use singular person (She, he, name etc)

Does will use plural person (I, we they, you)

2. Present Continuouss Tenses:-

Simple - Subject + is/am/are + Ist form of verb + ing

Negative - Subject + is/am/are + not + Ist form of verb + ing

Interrogative - Is/am/are + subject + Ist form verb + ing

Note:

Is will use singular person.

Am will use I

Are will use plural person

3. Present Perfect

simple - Subject + has/have + IIInd form of verb

Negative - Subject + has/have + not + IIInd form of verb

Interrogative - Has/Have + subject + IIInd form of verb

NOTE:

Has will use singular person

Have will use plural person

4. Present Perfect Continuous

Simple - Subject + Has/Have + been + Verb (Ist form) + Ing + For/Since

Negative - Subject + Has/Have + Not + been + Verb (Ist form) + Ing + + For/Since

Interrogative - Has/have Subject + been + Verb (Ist form) + Ing + For/Since

PAST TENSE

1. Past Simple

Simple - Subject + Past(V2)

Negative - Subject + did + not + Base form (V1)

Interrogative - Did + subject + base form (V1) + object + ?

2. Past Continuous

Simple - Subject + Was/Were + Verb (Ist form) + Ing

Negative - Subject + Was/Were + Not + Verb (Ist form) + Ing

Interrogative - Was/Were + Subject + Not + Verb (Ist form) + Ing

NOTE:

Was will use singular person

Were will use plural person

3. Past Perfect

Simple - Subject + had + IIInd form of verb

Negative - Subject + had + not + IIInd form of verb

Interrogative - Had + Subject + IIInd form of verb

4. Past Perfect Continuous

Simple - Subject + had + been + 1 form of verb + ing + since/for

Negative - Subject + had + not + been + 1 form of verb + ing + since/for

Interrogative - Had + Subject + been + 1 from of verb + ing + since/for

FUTURE TENSE

1. Future Simple

Simple - Subject + will/shall + 1 form of verb

Negative - Subject + will/shall + not + 1 form of verb

Interrogative - Will/shall + subject + 1 form of verb

NOTE:

Will use with singular person

shall use with plural person

2. Future Continuous tense

Simple - Subject + will/shall + be + 1 form of verb

Negative - Subject + will/shall + not + be + 1 form of verb
