Make a paper windmill which is a well known example of rotational symmetry.Explain why it is a good example of rotational symmetry. i) Take a square paper about 20cm of a side. ii) Draw its diagonals which intersect at the center of the square. iii) With the center of square and radius about 2cm draw a circle. iv) Now cut the diagonal of the circle upto the boundary of the circle. v) Fold four alternate corner sections down to the center and use glue to hold them. vi) Use the nail to make a hole at the top of the straw and then push the nail through the fan and stick it to the straw. vii) Put the stick of wood into the straw to strengthen it.

In first image, you can see how the windmill will look likes after following the seven steps.

In second image, you can see the direction of wind, which will make the windmill rotate with respect to centre.

Answer:

It is a good example of rotational symmetry because it rotates symmetrically from all four sides.
