Some   of  the  commonly  known  pollutions  are;

Air  pollution occurs  when  harmful  gases  are  released  into  the  atmosphere  like  sulphur  dioxide.This  makes  the  air   toxic .These  harmful  gases  also  contribute  to  acid  rain  and  global  warming.This  creates  difficulty  for  animlas  and  plants  to  survive.Breathing  in  polluted  air   can  also   result  in  asthma  and    cancer   in  the  lungs.Smoke  from  chimneys,factories,burning  of  wood or  coal etc  are  some  of  its  sources.

Water  pollution  is a  common  sight  nowadays.It  occurs  when  water  gets  polluted   by  wastes  making  it  harmful  for  consumption.Factories  may  dump  their    wastes  in water  bodies.Excess  use  of  pesticides  can  pollute  ground water  system.Oil  spills  can also  polllute  water.Many  aquatic  animals face  threat  due  to  water  polluion.

Land  pollution  occurs  when   excess  waste  is  dumped  on  the  land.Some  animals  like  cows  may  eat  plastic which  can  choke  them.The  soil  may  also  get  polluted  if  too  much  of  insecticides  or  pesticides  are  used  making  it  difficult  for  plants  to  grow  on  the  land.

Radioactive  pollution  is  highly  dangerous.It  may  cause  diseases  such  as  infertiliy,cancer,blindness,can  affect   air,water,soil  and  can   cause  defects  at  birth.It  may  occur  due  to  improper  disposal   of  nuclear  wastes,nuclear  plant  malfunctions  etc.

Heat  pollution  occurs  when  excessive  heat  is  created  in  the  environment.It  can  happen  due  to  air  pollution,deforestation etc. It  can  affect  wildlife   and  can  cause  climatic  changes.

Ligt  pollution  is  ofen  visible  in  big  cities,on  billboards  etc.It  occures  due  to  prominent  illumination  of  an  area.It  not  only  affecs  the  inhabitants of  the  residential  srea  but  also  affects  astronomical  observations  and  activities  by  making  stars  almost  invisible.
