A report on your field visit-
We were taken to Banalakshmi, located in the district of Birbhum, West Bengal. We chose this place to study the workings and processing of a small-scale industry. It is the brainchild of Niranjan Sanyal who started this farm with his own implemented efforts. He has been able to diversify the aspects and spread the word about Banalakshmi.
It can be defined as an organic farm where vegetation takes place. A dedicated restaurant is also present there. There is a shop where mementos are available. The farm also produces handmade pickles and jam. Various fruits and vegetables are grown within the farm. Rice is cultivated. Ghee- a milk product is very famous. Rice and Ghee are transported to the local markets of Illambazar but the rest products are sold in their unique counter. Fruit candies are another delicacy.
Laterite soil is present in abundance and is used for vegetation. It is an organization that empowered women and generated employment as it used labor-intensive technology. Man force is required to implement on the fields. They hire more employees in the peak seasons which rises the seasonal employment. It is an economic center.
