The Muslims as invaders came to India in 712 AD when Mohammad-Bin-I-Qasim, a Persian governor under Caliph of Baghdad invaded Sindh and defeated its ruler Raja Dahir. The Islamic kingdom was limited to Sindh only.
Later in 1001 AD Mohammad Ghazni, the first Turkish invader attacked in North India. He attacked India 17 times between 1001 AD to 1027 AD but did not establish an empire in India as he only wanted to loot India.
Then in 1191 another Turkish invader Mahmud Ghori attacked India. He defeated Prithvi Raj Chahaun, the ruler of Delhi in the Second Battle of Tarain in 1992 and established the Turish rule In India which lasted for centuries.
