Active Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject is performing the action.

Passive Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject undergoes the action. In other words, it is writing the sentence in reverse order.

Example: She is editing the video. (Active)

The video is being edited by her. (Passive)

NOTE: Sentences that convey habitual actions cannot be changed to passive mode.

1. Renu spoke sharply to the manager. (Active)

  • The manager was spoken to sharply by Renu. (Passive)

2. Australia lost the cricket match by an inning. (Active)
