It had been over two hours waiting for the train. Ruhi was getting restless. Suddenly she noticed a child who was wearing a small torn shirt and seemed to have lost his parents. She was wandering aimlessly in any direction. Ruhi suddenly felt sorry for that poor child who was nearly in tears looking at everybody with expecting eyes as if they were going to help him. He suddenly dropped the large loaded bag he was carrying and balancing on his liitle shoulders and he slumped his shoulder in a vague distressed manner. Ruhi strode to the boy and picked him up from the floor. He seemed to have not eaten anything for hours. She felt it to be benign to help him and brought an apple and a bottle of juice for the poor child. The child looked at her with a motherly feeling and looked surprised by her care. She decided to search for his parents who must be ragpickers as she could make out. She wandered with the child asking each and every vendor and ragpickers if they had seen his parents. They all replied a "no".Ruhi finally got completely exhaused and wanted to rest. She sat in a chair with the child staring at her with expectations. After a minute, she noticed a woman running towards her with tears in her eyes and as she approached her...she hugged her child and thanked Ruhi for taking care of him and gave her a lots of blessings... At that monent, the train arrived and Ruhi waved them goodbye and went inside her compartment.

Ruhi had

been waiting at the station for more than two hours. She had become restless sitting

on her briefcase. Then she noticed a child begging at the platform. The child

appeared to be 6 or 7 years old. As the child came to Ruhi, and begged for something

to eat, Ruhi realized the child was wearing elegant and trendy clothes. Her shoes

also were quite clean. Her general appearance indicated she belonged to a

family of means.

Ruhi asked

the child, ‘What do you want?’ ‘I am hungry’, said the girl. ‘I don’t know

where my mother has gone. I have been trying to find her for hours and now I have

grown hungry. Kindly give me something to eat.’

Ruhi

immediately took out a packet of biscuits from her bag and gave it to the

child. Then she took the girl to the lost and found department. There the

announcement was made concerning the lost girl. Ruhi’s efforts bore fruit.

Listening to the announcement, the child’s mother immediately reached the lost

and found department and as soon as she saw she hugged her daughter. She

thanked Ruhi for her help.

Meanwhile,

the train that Ruhi had been waiting arrived at the station. She boarded the

train and feeling happy continued her journey to her home.
